Overview
Maintenance Assistant role at Equans UK & Ireland in Wakefield (Pinderfield) and Pontefract Hospital. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Technical Services team to ensure the safe completion of repairs, minor planned installation and maintenance work on a wide range of equipment, building fixtures and plant to the highest standards for our clients.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on lighting, water and heating services and reactive repairs to building fabric (e.g., plaster, floor coverings, ceramic tiles) as required.
- Work as part of a wider M&E team; may undertake other tasks as required and assist electrical, mechanical, plumbing and joinery trade personnel as directed.
- Carry out external contractor liaison as needed and liaise with hospital staff on a daily basis.
- Carry out minor maintenance works and repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and joinery equipment (e.g., blocked sinks and toilets, lamp replacement, repairs to fixtures and fittings such as ceiling tiles, blinds, cupboards, ironmongery) and minor redecoration.
- Carry out HTM 04-01 Legionella and water hygiene checks.
- Maintain records and complete service reports; adhere to H&S policies and Safe Systems of Work, and comply with statutory regulations.
- Maintain, adjust and operate associated trades machinery and assist in maintaining accurate work and maintenance records.
- The role may require participation on a shift roster, which will include working unsocial hours with a shift allowance.
- Take responsibility for own work and report accidents, complaints, defects in equipment, near misses and untoward incidents following EQUANS procedures.
Qualifications / Experience
- Basic education to GCSE/βOβ Level in Maths and English or equivalent.
- Previous general maintenance experience is beneficial; previous experience in a similar role is desirable, although not essential.
- C&G Certificate β Inspection and testing of Portable Electrical Appliances is desirable.
- Must have (or be able to obtain) DBS clearance.
