Equans is looking for a Cleaning Team Leader to join our team in Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 3LY on a permanent basis. The role is full‑time, 34 hours per week, with an offered salary of £28,099 per annum and a benefits package.

Shift Pattern

Flexible working hours between 05:30–13:30, with duties every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility and supervision of housekeepers and patient services assistants daily, ensuring full coverage of duty rosters and effective completion of duties in line with performance standards.
  • Supervision and control of service standards delivered to the Trust at ward/departmental level, including cleaning and patient food and beverage service.
  • Act as the interface between ward/departmental managers and services teams concerning reactive maintenance requests, ensuring soft‑services staff proactively identify and report maintenance defects.

Qualifications

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
  • Basic Health and Safety Certificate (desirable)
  • Supervisory management qualification (desirable)
  • Ability to work as part of a team (essential)
  • Experience of performance management of employees, including appraisals
  • Experience of working within the Hotel & Catering industry and/or Facilities Management sector (desirable)
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Computer literate, ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
