Equans is looking for a Decorator working on our Calderdale Royal Hospital contract in Halifax. This is a permanent role, 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Complete painting and decorating tasks required at the Calderdale Royal Hospital site.
- Respond promptly to all maintenance issues in accordance with the Concession / Project Agreement to minimise penalty deductions.
- Ensure minimum disruption to wards and departments while carrying out works.
- Implement Infection Control requirements through information, instruction and training.
- Work within sustainability and health and safety policies and procedures.
- Undertake unsupervised routine painting tasks and work as instructed.
- Assist other trades in carrying out painting tasks connected to maintenance repairs and installation works.
- Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines.
- Collaborate and cooperate with the Trust, partners and colleagues to deliver a customer‑focused service.
- Undertake training where necessary to maintain and develop the service requirements.
- Liaise and undertake duties at other Equans projects as directed.
- Provide flexibility in work due to hospital access requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience
- Previously worked within a maintenance environment.
- Previously worked within a healthcare maintenance environment.
Skills / Ability / Knowledge
- Good understanding of health and safety and ability to work safely in a live hospital environment.
- Proficient at completing timesheets.
Education / Qualification
- City & Guilds trained in Painting & Decorating to Level 3 standard.
- GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
Personal Qualities
- Good communication and customer care skills.
- Proactive approach to problem solving.
- Capable of working with minimum supervision.
- Team player and willing to share knowledge with others.
- Flexible and willing.
- Prepared to work out of hours as necessary.
