Equans has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our facilities team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0700‑1530 or 1000‑1830 on a shift‑alternating weekly basis. A competitive salary and benefits package are offered.
What will you deliver?
- Report to the Operations Manager.
- Undertake building maintenance, including preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, as directed by the PPM schedule and management.
- Order materials and services as required, using the ordering system, and update records to certify satisfactory delivery or completion.
- Oversee specialist contractors.
Who are we looking for?
- Current M&E qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ 2, or equivalent in electrical or mechanical trade disciplines are desirable.
- Experience in building services is required.
- Willingness to attain cross‑skilling and to undertake training.
- General handy‑person/building skills are essential.
- Good IT skills.
- Flexibility, good customer service and communication skills are also vital.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety procedures; formal training is an advantage.
- Right to work in the UK is required.
