Equans Data Centres are recruitment Commissioning Managers M&E to support our growing Data Centre projects covering the UK

We are committed is to provide cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Centre facilities and are recruiting Commissioning Managers to join our innovative team initially based in Motherwell, Newport or High Wycombe, with the ability to support wider projects in the UK.

The role will be responsible for ensuring effective test and commissioning of Data Centre processes within set timescales, including quality and health & safety management to project hand over.

What will you deliver?

  • Provide strategic and tactical building services commissioning management support for the engineering process of a project from conception to completion.
  • As an expert, provide guidance and direction to the team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Requirements Management (able to interrogate Engineering Schedule, Verification & Validation requirements etc).
  • Manage the commission process with the verification and operation of plant and equipment.

This includes liaising with specialist sub-contractors and package managers to follow the specific commissioning process from Level 1 to Level 5.

  • Review and input the commissioning procedures and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor and advise when all commissioning documentation has been reviewed and signed off.
  • Compile and prepare comprehensive commissioning test documentation and reports.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in full conformance with quality environmental and safety requirements.
  • Participate in site-based site commissioning meetings to provide updates, resolve issues and align with project milestones.
  • Contribute to regular Progress Reports by providing accurate and timely commissioning updates.
  • Assist the Project Manager to prepare an inspection and test plans for each element of the works.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor and highly technical buildings.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Good writing skills with a focus on the drafting of test procedures and test coverage files.
  • Understanding and implementation of project engineering procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of UK/European building regulations.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety construction laws.
  • Commissioning experience working in data centres.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
