Responsibilities
- Reports to the Head of FP&A.
- Focus on delivery of the Board’s strategic objectives to drive value creation by supporting M&A, debt and equity raising, exit planning, promoting revenue growth and championing cost control and cost efficiency across the business.
- Work closely with shareholders, transaction service advisors (due diligence, legal, debt advisory), Executive Team members and their teams.
- Build and maintain Equals 5 year business plan model capable of incorporating scenario modelling, debt financing, and M&A functionality, kept up to date with latest actual financial information together with known risks and opportunities to enable a rolling forecast.
- Populate and maintain a “deal ready” data room with full back up documentation to enable smooth financial, legal and commercial due diligence of Equals at any point in time.
- Lead the annual 5 year strategic planning, detailed bottom up annual budget and half yearly forecast processes to deliver the longer-term strategic plan, annual budget, interim forecasts, partnering with the business to do so.
- Deliver weekly and/or monthly financial information and insight to Executive Committee, Board, Equity and Debt providers.
- Partner with department and revenue and cost-centre owners to manage their cost base (both staff and non-staff) and drive commercial improvement while maintaining a rolling forecast from identified Risks and Opportunities.
- Develop and maintain clear KPI’s including unit economics, pricing analysis and profitability measures alongside the Head of FP&A and commercial leaders.
- Partner with Senior Leadership and Executive Committee members, providing analysis and insight to guide operational and strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain the company-wide workforce planning model, working with departmental heads to forecast their headcount needs and the financial impact to the business.
- Own the Equals 5 year business plan model.
- Own and maintain a “deal ready” data room.
- Own the 5 year strategic planning, detailed bottom up budget and forecast processes.
- Own the company-wide workforce planning model and headcount forecast end-to-end.
- Own month-end variance analysis and the reporting and forward look risk and opportunities that keeps the business on plan.

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Business Finance Manager to join our FP&A function. You will be a natural analyst who can see and surface the key insights in financial and non-financial information and package, present and message to get the right discussions happening and decisions made within the business and drive the right actions forwards to enable commercial success. You will be adept at data analytics and successful in reporting commercial performance to key stakeholders, always responsive and with an eye on the forward look. You will have proven expertise running 5 year strategic planning, budget, forecast and rolling forecasting processes and delivering weekly and/or monthly financial information and insight to Executive Committee, Board, Equity and Debt providers in a PE backed and/or listed business. You will have experience of working in transaction driven environments, knowing what it takes to deliver on M&A, debt financing, listings, and exits. The FP&A function in Equals operates as a “deal ready” function. You will have the technical accounting and financial modelling expertise to build and run a fully integrated P&L, BS, Cashflow 5 year business model. Strong technical accounting and proven financial modelling capability. Strong time management and the ability to stay calm under pressure, keeping all stakeholders appropriately informed of progress. Strong MS Office abilities, Excel/data skills, pivot tables, index match/lookups, PowerPoint. Demonstrable experience in a similar FP&A or finance business partnering role. An excellent and confident communicator, able to deal with people at all levels in an organisation. Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA). Proficiency using AI tools (e.g. Claude including CoWork), applying them to finance workflows and with ability to evaluate the outputs. Keen to map out data flows and able to demonstrate interest and experience in applying AI tools in a finance context. Experience in a fintech or regulated financial services environment. Familiarity with FCA compliance frameworks. Experience working in a high-growth or post-merger environment.
