We are looking for a Stores Operative to support accurate goods handling, stock control and production continuity within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is key to ensuring materials are received, stored, issued and recorded correctly to support on-time production and delivery. Reporting to the Deputy Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with Purchasing, Production and Quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive inbound deliveries and check goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Verify part numbers, quantities, condition and traceability requirements
- Book goods in and out accurately using the ERP system
- Maintain accurate stock records and documentation
- Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts and support formal stock takes
- Pick and issue components to production in line with works orders
- Prepare component kits and replenish shop floor Kanbans
- Support despatch and Goods-Out activities during busy periods
- Print user manuals and create user manual memory sticks as required
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and compliance within stores areas
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience in a stores, warehouse or materials handling role
- ERP system experience for goods-in, goods-out and stock control
- Good IT skills, including MS Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Understanding of Bills of Materials and production workflows
- Experience working within an ISO-certified or regulated organisation
- Familiarity with Kanban or lean material replenishment systems
- Ability to read engineering drawings
