The Company
Since 1873, Woollard & Henry has been at the forefront of high quality, bespoke engineering products serving the global paper manufacturing industry, the energy sector and beyond. Employee owned since 2002, the company is headquartered in Dyce, Aberdeen with locations in Germany and Poland. The current MD has led the business since 2002 and is now looking to ensure a smooth transition within the next 2 years. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and visionary leader to guide us into our next chapter of growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance the group's vision, mission, and overall direction while directing the strategic and business planning processes.
- Robust management of the group’s financial health, striving to achieve a balance between growth and profit while maintaining employment stability and the company’s commercial reputation.
- Identify new business opportunities and manage key relationships with external stakeholders while internally fostering a culture that encourages growth, innovation, and sustainability.
- Continuation and evolution of the company’s diversification strategy to deliver new profitable revenue streams and long-term security.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build sound relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to inspire and lead the company’s employee-owners.
Experience
- Successful track record demonstrating 5+ years in a Senior Management role within an engineering or manufacturing sector.
- Proven experience of strategic planning, implementation, and strategic decision-making.
- International business experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A strong sales background.
- Technically qualified.
- Sound understanding of corporate governance.
- Understanding of employee ownership or ability to develop knowledge of the employee-owned model.
The position will be based at our head office in Dyce, Aberdeen and international travel is required. A competitive package consistent with a senior position within the sector is available. Relocation support will be available where required, as part of the package.
