Who We Are Looking For: EqualReach is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in international VAT treatment— ideally with experience advising digital marketplace or agency models— to review and verify their VAT treatment mapping.
Project Brief: EqualReach is an agency (not principal) that facilitates contracts between businesses and refugee tech teams across multiple countries. Their core platform infrastructure and contracts are complete, but before scaling further they need expert verification that their VAT treatment is correctly mapped and applied across relevant international contexts.
Role Responsibilities: The Skilled Volunteer will:
- Review EqualReach’s existing VAT mapping
- Verify that it is correctly applied across relevant international jurisdictions
- Identify errors or gaps in the current approach and provide clear, practical recommendations for risk mitigation
Who You’ll Be Supporting: EqualReach is a London-based, female-founded social enterprise on a mission to connect skilled refugee teams with dignified digital work through an impact-driven freelancing marketplace. Operating across 13 countries, they vet and match displaced talent with businesses seeking high-quality project-based tech services while tracking the measurable social impact of every placement. To date, EqualReach has created over 170 job opportunities for forcibly displaced people, proving that ethical outsourcing and excellent business outcomes are not mutually exclusive.
Your Impact: By sharing your expertise in international VAT compliance, you will give EqualReach the legal confidence to scale. This will empower them to reach more talent, unlock more contracts, and contribute to the dismantling of barriers facing forcibly displaced people.
Please Note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 3 weeks, totalling around 6 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting.
