Hounslow | Full-time | Start date: September 2026

We are working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Hounslow to recruit a Salaried Trainee PE Teacher to join our employment-based teacher training programme starting in September 2026. This is a paid, school-based route into teaching, designed for graduates or career changers who want to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while working in the classroom from day one.

The role

As a salaried trainee, you will teach PE across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7 to 11), working towards GCSE level as part of a 12-month employed teacher training programme. You will join the school as a valued member of staff from the outset, developing your classroom practice through a rigorous, carefully sequenced training programme led by Equalitas, a DfE-accredited teacher training provider with subject expertise at its core.

Across the year, you will be supported through:

  • Expert-led training delivered by Equalitas, including in-person training days and online sessions
  • A dedicated school-based mentor, providing regular guidance, feedback and support
  • Ongoing subject-specific development and professional learning within a connected training community

Salary will be in line with Unqualified Teacher Pay (UQ1) for the local area. The exact salary will be confirmed at offer stage.

Who we are looking for

  • Hold a UK bachelor’s degree (2:2 or above), ideally in a PE related subject
  • Hold GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English Language and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Have the right to work full-time in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the past 3 years
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a clear interest in teaching PE
  • Be able to support, challenge and inspire young people
  • Bring confidence, commitment and a strong classroom presence
