We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Teaching Assistant to join our three friendly mainstream primary schools in Carmarthenshire and Swansea. While this is a supply position, you will be welcomed as a key part of the classroom, helping to create a positive and motivating environment for every child. Whether you are looking for the flexibility of daily supply or hoping to build long-term relationships with a local school, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in education.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Working alongside the lead teacher to deliver engaging lessons and manage the daily classroom routine.
  • Small Group Learning: Leading focused activities in literacy and numeracy to help children build confidence and master new concepts.
  • Student Engagement: Providing 1:1 assistance to pupils who need a little extra help to stay on track with their assignments.
  • Safety & Supervision: Overseeing pupils during break times, lunch, and school trips to ensure a safe and happy environment for all.
  • Resource Preparation: Helping to organise and distribute learning materials so that lessons run smoothly and efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

  • Nurturing Approach: Someone who is caring, patient, and genuinely loves watching children learn and grow.
  • Strong Communication: An approachable individual who can build great relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Bilingual Skills (Desirable): Fluent Welsh speakers, as we support many bilingual and Welsh-medium settings in the area.
  • Versatile Backgrounds: Experience in sports coaching, youth leadership, or creative roles such as dance or photography is a huge plus.

Requirements

  • EWC Registration: Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (or willing to sign up).
  • Enhanced DBS: A clear Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willing to process one).
  • Safeguarding: A valid Safeguarding Level 1 certificate (we can provide this training if needed).
