Fast-growing clean-tech maritime business developing wind-assisted propulsion systems is seeking a hands-on Principal Design Engineer to lead structural/mechanical design of major subsystems. You’ll own 3D/parametric modelling, structural analysis, and class-compliant design, taking concepts through to production-ready hardware with real-world feedback.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree in Mechanical / Structural / Marine / Naval Architecture
  • 5–10 years designing marine/offshore structures
  • Strong 3D CAD & parametric modelling (NX, Inventor, similar)
  • Structural analysis: FEA + hand calcs
  • Experience with DNV / Lloyd’s Register / NK
  • Background in large steel structures / welded assemblies
  • Ability to turn load cases → validated designs
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hardware-focused environment
