A leading construction and engineering contractor is looking for a Design Manager to support a major redevelopment project in Acton. The scheme includes two hyperscale data centres, an office building and a new substation, following full demolition, utility diversions and ground remediation.

YOUR NEW ROLE

Youll lead design delivery from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring designs are compliant, buildable and aligned with programme, cost, quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design delivery and governance across all project stages
  • Develop and control design programmes
  • Coordinate consultants, designers and subcontractors
  • Lead design reviews, approvals and technical assurance
  • Identify value engineering opportunities
  • Support construction teams with technical queries
  • Oversee as-built information and O&M documentation
  • Build strong relationships with clients and project teams
  • Mentor junior design staff

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience managing design through pre-construction and delivery
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction design and engineering
  • Solid understanding of Building Regulations and CDM
  • Experience with design reviews, approvals and optimisation

Qualifications: RIBA/CIOB/ICE (or equivalent), degree or equivalent experience, SMSTS, CSCS (Black preferred)
