Join a specialist contractor delivering complex, high-value projects across data, defence and energy. We are growing our design leadership capability ahead of a major multi-stage Data Centre programme in Wiltshire (c.£80m), now progressing through Stage 4 design with enabling works scheduled for 2026.

As Senior Design Manager, you will lead design strategy, governance and delivery across large, technically demanding schemes. You will shape design performance from bid through construction and handover, ensuring compliance, clarity and best-in-class technical assurance.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD
  • Full design management across major projects
  • Design governance, reporting and risk control
  • Delivery strategy aligned to procurement, construction and commissioning
  • Technical assurance, statutory compliance and Safety in Design
  • Value engineering, optimisation and commercial impact
  • Client, consultant and stakeholder engagement
  • Leadership and development of Design Managers
  • Continuous improvement and digital design adoption
ABOUT YOU
  • Significant experience managing design on major construction projects
  • Strong track record leading multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Deep understanding of contractual, technical and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to drive value engineering and design optimisation
  • Experience developing design management capability
  • Degree qualified; RIBA/CIOB/ICE or equivalent (Chartered desirable)
  • SMSTS + Black CSCS preferred
SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • £85,000 - £95,000
