ROLE: 1-TO-1, FACE-TO-FACE TUTOR (QUALIFIED TEACHER)

SUBJECT: CORE SUBJECTS (ENGLISH, MATHS, SCIENCE) AT KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS LEVEL

LOCATION: LINCOLNSHIRE, BOSTON, GRANTHAM, GRIMSBY, MABLETHORPE (AND SURROUNDING AREAS)

RATE: Β£31 - Β£45 PER HOUR

We are a social enterprise striving to improve educational outcomes for vulnerable young people, including Children Looked After, those adopted, and those with Special Educational Needs. We believe in empowering children through tailored 1-to-1 educational support.

We are seeking qualified teachers who share our values and who are motivated by a strong desire to make an impact in the lives of those whose current needs are not being met by the education system.

As an Equal Education tutor you will have the opportunity to help children to overcome barriers to learning, help them build trusted relationships and increase their aspirations. We also provide in-house safeguarding training and regular CPD events for all our tutors to get involved in.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Based in the UK, with the Right to work in the UK and able to be self-employed
  • Experience teaching core subjects (Maths, English, Science) at KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE/Functional Skills level
  • Available during school hours and/or after school
  • Available for face-to-face tuition (not online) in the stated location
  • Experience working with Children Looked After and/or with SEND
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check for working with children
  • Fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Excellent in your communication, timekeeping, reliability, and reporting

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and experience in supporting children to self-regulate emotions
  • Understanding of working with vulnerable young people with a range of needs and communication styles
  • Ability to tailor provision based on information provided in documentation e.g. Education Health and Care Plan
  • Experience with mentoring
