We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support verbal and non-verbal pupils with ASD within a specialist resource base in a mainstream secondary school.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with ASD
- Supporting communication, sensory regulation and routines
- Implementing individual support and behaviour plans
- Promoting independence, engagement and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers and SEN/ALN staff
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced supporting pupils with ASD (verbal and non-verbal)
- Calm, patient and consistent in their approach
- Confident using structured routines and positive behaviour strategies
