The predicted salary is between 58100 - 68231 £ per year.

Base Location: Glasgow and/or Perth

Salary: £66100 – £99100 (subject to experience) + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

The role involves supporting the SSE Renewables Offshore Development team to help secure and deliver a pipeline of offshore wind projects. Candidates should have pre and post contract experience of high value contracts, preferably within marine packages in Renewables or a similar industry.

As a Procurement and Commercial Manager for Offshore Development Projects, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing robust procurement strategies tailored to the unique demands of offshore development projects.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to drive collaboration and accountability.
  • Providing coaching, support, and development opportunities to ensure high performance across the team.
  • Leading contract negotiations to secure optimal terms for SSE while managing ongoing contractual obligations.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential procurement and commercial risks.
  • Driving cost efficiency by identifying opportunities to improve value across procurement and commercial processes.
  • Working closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to align procurement and commercial activities with broader project objectives.
  • Using analytics and insights to inform procurement strategies and evaluate success.
  • Championing procurement governance principles to meet SSE’s standards of integrity and compliance.
  • Providing expert commercial guidance to project teams to address procurement challenges.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing and refining procurement frameworks.

You have:

  • An understanding of offshore wind markets, supplier landscapes, and asset management support contracts.
  • A Procurement, Legal or Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalent direct entry to a recognised appropriate professional body preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role responsible for procuring and managing marine-based contracts.
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts and offering solutions to improve them.
  • Demonstrable senior stakeholder engagement and management skills.
