Base Location: You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Glasgow, Perth, Dublin, Belfast or Reading.
Salary: £51,600 – £77,400 or €65,300 – €97,900 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role:
The FP&A Manager plays an important role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting and analysis across the Customer Assets business within SSE Energy Customer Solutions (ECS). Working collaboratively with Business Partnering, Financial Control and operational teams, the role provides trusted financial insight and guidance that helps shape decisions, support strategic priorities and drive positive business outcomes. Responsible for delivering accurate budgets, forecasts, long-range plans and performance reporting, the role helps identify trends, risks and opportunities while building strong financial understanding across the business. The successful candidate will also contribute to the ongoing development of an insight-led FP&A function through continuous improvement of reporting, forecasting, modelling and planning processes, fostering a culture of learning, partnership and informed decision-making.
You will:
- Drive Financial Planning & Forecasting: Support budgets, forecasts and long-term planning, providing insight into risks, opportunities and business performance.
- Deliver Meaningful Performance Reporting: Produce high-quality management reporting, dashboards and analysis that help leaders understand business performance and make informed decisions.
- Provide Commercial Insight & Decision Support: Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, support investment decisions and drive value creation.
- Develop Financial Models & Business Cases: Build robust financial models, scenario analysis and business cases to evaluate strategic initiatives and business opportunities.
- Strengthen Governance & Financial Control: Ensure planning, forecasting and reporting processes are accurate, well-governed and aligned with Finance standards and best practice.
- Collaborate Across the Business & Drive Improvement: Partner with stakeholders across Finance and Customer Assets to improve processes, enhance reporting capabilities and support business objectives.
You have:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant financial experience.
- Experience within FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting or business analysis, with involvement in budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data and generate meaningful insights.
- Confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly and build effective relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outputs to challenging deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial reporting and planning systems; experience within a large, complex organisation would be advantageous.
