Salary: £42,600- £64,000/ €57,600- €72,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the execution of comprehensive general accounting and period closing activities within our Energy Services and Solar division with Energy Customer Solutions. The Financial Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of general accounting, period end closing, and reporting activities, and delivery of reporting information to the wider Finance community in line with defined reporting protocols.
The Financial Accountant will liaise with the Business Partner on a regular basis to provide updates on financial performance and provide additional insight through reporting and commentary as required. They will also interact with the Business as required to understand the impact of material transactions that will impact performance.
You will
- Period end close & reporting: Complete month end process for Energy Services and Solar division within ECS including variance analysis & commentary of principal variances. Maintain an ongoing daily dialogue with the Financial Controller and Business Partner highlighting material impacts to performance. Full review of revenue accruals, prepayments, accrued & deferred income, debtors analysis for these businesses.
- P&L preparation & BS reconciliations: Timely review P&L and BS control account reconciliations using judgement to highlight and investigate key and unexpected variances providing supporting commentary when required prior to review by the Business Partner.
- Management Reporting: Timely review of management reports (e.g. Flash reports, KPI, etc.) using strong knowledge of the business and judgement to provide commentary at the appropriate level prior to review by the Business Partner.
- Statutory Reporting: Prepare financial statements for the relevant legal entities. Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate backup provided as requested.
- Continuous improvement: Support the General Accounting Lead to identify and implement initiatives and opportunities e.g. process improvements.
You have
- Fully qualified accountant with 3+ years Post Qualified Experience in an operational finance role.
- Adaptive to changing objectives and priorities to deliver results and ability to work across multiple teams.
- Effectively communicating financial performance to operational colleagues to embed financial understanding within the business.
- Ability to challenge and drive change in processes to ensure that they are being carried out in an efficient manner.
- Excellent knowledge of current regulations including IFRS / new UK GAAP, Companies Acts, Regulatory Licences etc.
