The predicted salary is between 42600 - 64000 £ per year.

Base Location: You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations Glasgow or Perth. Other locations will be considered across our network of UK offices.

Salary: £42,600 – £64,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The primary purpose of the Group Internal Audit Function is to enable delivery of SSE strategic objectives, protect and enhance organisational value through the provision of assurance and advisory services. The Group Internal Auditor is a core role within the team, responsible for delivery of audits within the Group Internal Audit plan. This includes ownership and management of the end-to-end audit process from planning and scoping to action identification and reporting.

  • Lead planning and scoping activities over audits assigned from the Group Internal Audit Plan.
  • Execute audit fieldwork in accordance with both SSE Internal Audit Methodology and recognised professional standards.
  • Evaluate audit results to define relevant and value-adding findings, including assessment of their significance and risk implications for the business.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the audit lifecycle, ensuring effective communication of progress and results.
  • Provide insight and analysis to support management of risks and identification of efficiency opportunities.

You have:

  • Part or full accountancy/audit qualification and minimum three years experience in relevant role.
  • Ability to quickly understand and evaluate complex business processes and define audit testing approaches.
  • Ability to interrogate and analyse complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of audit reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence a complex range of stakeholders.
