This is a senior finance leadership role at the heart of how technology investment is shaped, prioritised and delivered across SSE Group.
You'll partner closely with the Group CIO, Business Unit CIOs, Finance Directors and Finance leadership to bring commercial rigour, strategic challenge and an enterprise mindset to technology investment decisions across the Group.
As a core member of the IT Leadership Team (ITLT), you'll help shape SSE's digital and transformation agenda, ensuring investment is focused on the outcomes that matter most to the business.
This role is less about reporting and more about driving better decisions, influencing investment choices, creating transparency and ensuring accountability for value delivery across a complex and federated operating model.
This is an opportunity for a finance leader who wants to operate at the intersection of technology, strategy, transformation and finance, helping shape how SSE invests in and delivers technology.
- You will
- Act as the Finance partner to the Group CIO and a key member of the IT Leadership Team, working closely with Business Unit CIOs, Finance Directors and senior leaders to support technology strategy and investment decisions.
- Bring a strong commercial lens to technology investment, challenging value, prioritisation, affordability and trade-offs.
- Influence and challenge Business Unit Finance and IT leaders in a federated model to support enterprise outcomes.
- Provide a Group-wide view of the technology investment portfolio, supporting consistent prioritisation and funding decisions.
- Help develop and embed a consistent approach to assessing and tracking value from technology investment across SSE.
- Support clarity of ownership, decision-making and accountability across Group and Business Unit technology spend.
- Shape and challenge technology demand, ensuring investment proposals are clearly linked to business outcomes, strategic priorities and enterprise value.
