Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing, and other building upkeep activities under ESQCR regulations.
  • Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and escape immediate risks promptly.
  • Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
  • Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver world-class service.

Qualifications

  • Proven background in a construction trade.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • A good level of Health and Safety awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak with people at all levels.
  • IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.
  • A full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must.
  • Company vehicle will be provided for work duties.
