Position Overview
River Mead School is seeking to appoint a passionate and energetic Teaching Assistant to work with their Resource Base. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
Responsibilities
- You will support the class teacher in delivering a differentiated curriculum and ensure pupils can access learning effectively across a range of needs.
- You will work closely with children to explain tasks, reinforce learning in key areas such as literacy, and encourage focus, independence, and confidence.
- You will support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development by promoting inclusion and building positive relationships in and out of the classroom.
- You will provide personal care where required, support therapy programmes, and promote pupils’ welfare, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
- You will work collaboratively with teachers, the Inclusion Lead, parents, and external professionals to contribute to provision plans and monitor pupil progress.
- You will also prepare resources, maintain a safe and engaging learning environment, and support wider school activities, including supervision and trips.
- You will uphold high professional standards, follow safeguarding and school policies, and actively engage in ongoing training and development to continually enhance your practice.
