Overview: Lavington School, part of EQUA Mead Learning Trust, is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support the learning and development of all pupils.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with teachers to support learning, helping students achieve their full potential while promoting independence, confidence and inclusion.
- Provide tailored support to individuals and small groups, ensuring all pupils, including those with SEND, can access the curriculum and feel a sense of achievement.
- Prepare and organise learning resources, maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment and use effective behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes.
- Observe student progress, monitor targets and share feedback with teachers and the SENCO to inform decision‑making.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals to support students’ development and wellbeing.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including supporting extracurricular activities, safeguarding pupils, and assisting with interventions and examinations where needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, uphold high standards of conduct and actively contribute to a supportive, inclusive and aspirational school environment.
