As part of our continued growth across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, we are looking to appoint an experienced Groundworks & Civils Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding commercial team.

The Impact You'll Make

We are looking for a commercially driven Groundworks & Civils Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the financial and contractual performance of multiple projects. This role will play a key part in protecting margins, managing risk, supporting operational teams, and ensuring strong commercial control from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with site managers, engineers, site teams, clients, and the supply chain, you will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of groundwork and civil engineering packages
  • Preparation of budgets, cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor and supplier packages
  • Preparation and submission of applications, variations, and compensation events
  • Monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and CVR management
  • Measurement and re-measurement of site works
  • Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities
  • Contract administration
  • Liaison with site delivery teams to ensure accurate cost capture and programme alignment
  • Supporting tendering, pre-construction pricing, and value engineering initiatives

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks and civil engineering
  • Strong knowledge of residential infrastructure, roads & sewers, drainage, foundations, and plot works
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts
  • Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation, reporting, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced delivery environment
  • Proactive mindset with a solution-led approach
  • Full UK driving licence
