This role will be working for a leading global Investment Manager. The Senior Sustainability Manager will focus on global sustainability regulations (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, SDR), with an emphasis on supply and value chain mapping. They will support Infrastructure and Private Equity teams in sustainable finance strategy and compliance. The role involves staying current with regulatory changes, supporting Risk, Governance, and Compliance functions, and addressing modern slavery, supply chain transparency, and human rights by embedding risk management systems across the organisation's value chain.
Role responsibilities and requirements
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance – Support investment teams in aligning with global sustainability regulations (e.g. SFDR, ISSB, SDR, ESG).
- Monitor and Advise on Regulatory Changes – Track evolving sustainable finance legislation, including taxonomies and anti-greenwashing measures, providing expert guidance to compliance teams.
- Integrate Risk Management Across Supply Chains – Conduct due diligence and apply risk frameworks to identify, track, and mitigate sustainability risks in investment portfolios and supply/value chains.
- Support Cross-Departmental Compliance – Work with internal teams to ensure supplier contracts and practices meet sustainability and disclosure obligations.
- Develop and Implement ESG Policies – Create and maintain sustainability policies aligned with regulatory requirements, serving as a key contact during ESG audits and reviews.
- Drive ESG Reporting and Metrics – Establish KPIs for supply/value chain ESG performance, ensuring accurate reporting and minimizing greenwashing risks.
- Lead Training and Stakeholder Engagement – Deliver internal training on ESG regulations and practices, and engage stakeholders across departments and supply chain partners.
- Facilitate Transparency and Sustainability Culture – Promote a culture of ESG awareness and transparency, supporting long-term sustainable finance goals.
Key skills and qualities needed
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field.
- Established experience (5+ years) within sustainable finance.
- Good track record of navigating the sustainable finance regulatory environment.
- Managing compliance with associated supply and value chain obligations.
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as ISSB, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, SDR and modern slavery laws.
- Ability to identify emerging trends in the sustainable finance space.
- Proficiency in supply chain management tools, data analysis platforms, and compliance tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented and proactive in managing compliance challenges.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable with balancing multiple priorities and effective multi-tasking.
