Role: EQ’s discretionary fund management arm is looking to hire a Business Development Sales Support. Within this role, you will be actively involved in helping to drive new revenue growth for the company. The role will involve supporting the distribution team in providing market-leading client experience and will report to the Head of (Investment) Sales. The successful candidate will be expected to improve the efficiency of the distribution function and proactively manage and improve processes. The candidate should be interested in developing as a Sales Professional over time and there is an opportunity for proactive as well as reactive contact with IFAs and intermediaries, with the potential to manage your own client book in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Business Development Manager (BDM) in servicing and increasing share of wallet from our key IFA accounts whilst contributing to the wider growth of the DFM business through other business development activities.
  • Support the distribution team in providing a market-leading client experience; undertake the day-to-day sales and client tasks in order to ensure efficiency.
  • Assist with responding to client & prospect queries, sourcing EQ materials and collating answers from the wider team if necessary.
  • Develop the skillset and practical knowledge of the industry, intermediary market, existing clients, and EQ’s competitors.
  • Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of our products and services and the ability to apply that knowledge to support our IFA clients.
  • Assist the distribution team with event and webinar program – this could include organising events, liaising with other stakeholders such as venues/event organisers, as well as the invitation and follow-up process.
  • A (long-term) pathway to a BDM position exists, where you will in time become a named client/relationship contact for a book of Investment clients.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Previous relevant work experience essential (12+ months).
  • IFA/Client facing experience desirable.
  • Financial services or Sales experience desirable.
  • A pro-active mindset with the desire to develop a career in intermediary sales/business development.
  • A client-first mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills, confident and personable in engaging a diverse client base.
  • Confident verbal and written communication manner.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Coachable and keen to learn with demonstrable grit & determination.
  • Willing to take responsibility and oversee projects to completion under guidance. Can work autonomously when required.
  • Can liaise with internal & external stakeholders effectively and mediate good outcomes for the team and the business.
  • Flexible and keen to be involved in a wide spectrum of activities.

Salary & Benefits:

The role is a full-time position based at our office near Monument in London with a competitive salary up to £36,000 and a discretionary bonus target. Other benefits include:
