Cedar Lodge Care Home, Whitchurch on Thames is looking for a Bank Domestic Assistant (Homemaker) at £12.71 per hour with flexible/bank hours to cover during busy periods, annual leave, and sickness.
Role Overview
As a Bank Domestic Assistant (Homemaker) at Cedar Lodge, you will have the flexibility to work the hours that suit your needs and those of your family. You will be responsible for the general cleanliness and tidiness within the home as well as the communal areas. Part of your duties will include assisting those working within the laundry to ensure clothes are washed, ironed, and neatly put away for everyone that lives in Cedar Lodge. It is vital that you have some understanding of COSHH regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- To clean all allocated rooms, including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets, and equipment.
- To work in cooperation with the Home Manager in maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the Care Home.
- Represent the Cedar Lodge brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
- Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.
Skills, Qualifications and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience within a similar environment desirable.
- NVQ Level 2 in housekeeping (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification if not already obtained.
- Ability to work on a 7-day rota which will include weekends.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
