Cedar Lodge Care Home, Whitchurch on Thames is seeking a Care Assistant (Care Companion) for night shifts from 8pm to 8am. The salary ranges from £29,080 to £33,839 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience, with a commitment of 44 hours per week including alternate weekends.
Role Overview
As a Care Companion at Cedar Lodge, you will be placed at the heart of the home along with the residents. Your well-being is important to us, as we believe that if you’re okay, the people who live here will be okay too. We want you to engage with residents, share meals, and build meaningful relationships.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support residents with intimate washing/drying, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
- Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.
Skills, Qualifications and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a similar environment is desirable.
- Flexible, patient, with a caring attitude, and a real 'people person'.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
