We are looking for individuals to join our Early Careers Trainee Programme in Audit, Accounts or Tax. You will gain the skills, qualifications and experience to become a fully qualified professional, with strong support every step of the way.

Role Overview

We are seeking people with enthusiasm and commitment to provide a high-quality, added-value service to our clients. You will develop skills in accountancy, taxation and audit, with substantial IT and business development exposure. As you gain experience, client exposure and responsibility will increase. Personal skills training is provided.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We are looking for people who are:

  • Working Towards a Degree or Degree Qualified: Applicants with at least 300 UCAS points (old tariff) or 125 UCAS points (new tariff) are considered. We accept applications from any degree discipline.
  • Part or Non-Qualified: Whether you don’t hold any accountancy qualifications or have started on your journey to become a Chartered Accountant, we want to hear from you.

The Programme

You will join a training contract and programme with practical client experience and professional study towards your qualification. You’ll become part of the Sumer Academy and participate in online, virtual and in-person learning that builds technical and soft skills. You’ll train as part of a group-wide cohort and connect with trainees across the Sumer Group.

About You

To apply, you’ll need a strong academic background, including at least a Grade C/4 in English and Grade B/6 in Maths at National 5 level (or equivalent). You’ll also be:

  • Collaborative – a team player who enjoys sharing ideas and working together to achieve great results.
  • Time efficient – able to balance work and study with good organisation and prioritisation.
