Position: Finance Assistant or Finance Officer, depending on qualification and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing support for key activities managed by the central finance transactional team.
  2. Operating relevant ICT and finance packages, including PSF, to manage financial transactions.
  3. Supporting the Finance Team in processing transactions in line with the Trust\’s Scheme of Financial Delegation and financial procedures, ensuring approval for transactions has been documented.
  4. Maintaining and updating financial information in the finance system to process purchase orders (POs).
  5. Matching invoices to purchase orders, identifying discrepancies, and taking follow-up action, seeking guidance from the Finance Team.
  6. Inputting invoice details on PSF in preparation for payment, ensuring they are appropriately matched to a PO and/or approved.
  7. Processing procurement card orders.
  8. Processing sales invoices as requested.
  9. Posting other ad-hoc income to the PSF.
  10. Ensuring accurate accounting records are kept for all transactions.
  11. Maintaining and updating financial records.
  12. Developing knowledge of routine financial procedures, the financial scheme of delegation, and financial regulations to ensure compliance.
  13. Providing reports and statistics, retrieving and collating information to a high standard.
  14. Supporting the transactional team in preparation for month-end processes.
  15. Responding independently to routine correspondence, seeking support for complex queries.
  16. Supporting the Finance Team with other projects and activities as required.
  17. Completing study and assignments to achieve the AAT qualification, in line with deadlines set by the apprenticeship provider.
