Job Title: Warehouse & Distribution Graduate

Location: Telford, Hortonwood

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday: 8:30-17:00

Reports To: Head of Warehouse & Distribution

Job Purpose:

  • Work alongside an experienced and well-established Warehouse & Distribution Team to support learning for long term career growth.
  • Utilise learning to enhance Warehouse & Distribution performance at Epwin Windows with the introduction of best practice warehouse processes, stock management, transport logistics, innovation, process improvement and new technology for optimal performance & quality, whilst demonstrating good communication, drive, passion, project management and leadership.
  • Deliver multiple improvement projects in warehouse, stock control and transport logistics for improved operations in key metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people & environment
  • Following an initial 4-week induction period, you will follow four, 16-week rotations establishing themselves in key departments, developing a strong understanding of its need within the business and complete a study/project to demonstrate their new knowledge.
  • Closely supported by your assigned Mentor, you will be involved in hands on learning and complete rotations in the following operations areas:
    • Warehouse goods-in
    • Warehouse picking & replenishment
    • Stock management, picking & replenishment accuracy, stock rotation & product quality
    • Transport planning & despatch
    • Transport fleet management
    • Business & continuous improvement
  • There will then follow a more in-depth 32-week work placement, individually tailored specifically to your interests and the business needs. As part of this placement, you will be asked to lead one specific improvement project that will enable you to apply many of the new skills you will acquire.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support warehouse, stock control and transport logistics functions
  • Develop and maintain suitable warehouse & distribution KPI metrics
  • Continuous improvement in warehouse & distribution for enhanced performance
  • High level of stock accuracy, security, quality and stock rotation
  • Minimise product damage and losses
  • Cost reduction, improved quality and customer delivery service levels
  • Reduction in process lead times including goods-in, replenishment & picking
  • Support with technology innovations including new warehouse & distribution systems
  • Work closely with team to develop market leading warehouse/distribution operation
  • Deliver waste reduction, sustainability and energy optimisation
  • Support with introduction of new processes, standardisation and training
  • Work closely with suppliers including MHE to assure quality, performance & cost

Key Experiences and Skills Required:

  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management, stock control and transport logistics
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, lead by example and resolve any problems quickly
  • Good communication, engagement & rapport with employees at all levels is essential
  • Professional, motivated and ethical approach to work, with a growth mind-set
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise key task
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse & distribution environment

Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified in warehouse management, transport logistics or similar operations related discipline
  • Computer literate with excellent MS Office skills
  • A full driving license is essential and flexibility to travel if required.
