Overview:
We are seeking a confident and adaptable Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our fast-paced production environment. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our site machinery through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and resolve machinery breakdowns during shift.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site equipment.
- Work closely with the Shift Manager to assess and prioritise breakdowns to meet production targets.
- Operate as the sole engineer on shift, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and issues encountered.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Strong background in electrical and mechanical fault finding.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC motors and controls, chillers, and water systems.
- Ability to work independently and make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- To cover shifts due to holidays/Sickness
- Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environments.
