Overview

Production Operator (Temporary) at Epson UK & I

Salary: £24,829 + 17% shift allowance. Two rotational shifts: Week 1 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; Week 2 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Following shortlisted applications, you will be invited to Epson’s site to go through a recruitment process, which includes literacy and numeracy tests, drug and alcohol test, health and safety briefing, and a competency-based interview. The assessment takes around 3 hours to complete.

Role: Production Operator (Temporary Contract) at Epson Telford Limited. Epson is a European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks and has recently expanded into blow moulding. Quality and innovation are core to operations, including a Cleanroom environment, in-house machinery, and use of 6-axis robots.

Responsibilities

  • Check the production shipping plans to build priority orders as requested.
  • Communicate with the infusion department about planned builds.
  • Manage stock movements within the packing area and replenish racking as needed.
  • Report spillages and leaks to the Key Transition Point (KTP) on the shift.
  • Follow procedures and work instructions for each process.
  • Record batch codes on the relevant paperwork for traceability.
  • Produce labels for each pouch or bag using the appropriate matrices.
  • Work to achieve daily production targets and maintain quality.
  • Escalate machine downtime to the Technician as required.
  • Set up the line correctly at the start of each shift and ensure it is empty at the end of the shift when appropriate.
  • Perform 5S housekeeping during and at the end of the shift.
  • Move satellites and barrels to designated locations, weighting as necessary.
  • Ensure PPE is worn at all times.
  • Verify trolley quantities and that product matches paperwork.
  • Follow all work instructions for Infusion and Packing within textiles.
  • Support other areas of the business as required.
  • Complete all necessary training and SAP transactions related to bin movements and packing receipts.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and on time; record defects and DAS as required on a daily basis.
