About us: Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site. We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks. These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Quality and innovation are at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.

Shift:

  • Week 1 – Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 2.00pm, Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm
  • Week 2 – Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Friday 1.00pm to 8.00pm

Main job functions:

  • To ensure the safe and efficient running of production and quality through day-to-day management of the Operators.
  • To ensure the area is clean and tidy as per Epson’s 5S policy and the Production standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all Staff, specifically within the Department.
  • Ensuring all staff are correctly inducted, trained and have the relevant risk assessments, and safe systems of work, and ensuring Staff are following these rules.
  • Take ownership and drive operator ownership of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Development.
  • Responsible for the line set up prior to shift start.
  • Stock take and PI management.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the relevant Team Members.
  • Ensure effective communication to respective operators.
  • Carry out on line DAS in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the shift report is distributed daily.
  • Responsible for on line manpower and holiday allocation.
  • Manage effectively the achievement of the daily production plan ensuring all lines perform.
  • Responsible for manpower allocation, holiday planning, RTW, appraisals, interviews and disciplinaries.
  • Responsible for the in-process Quality sign off.
  • Responsible for co-ordination of model change in-line with procedure and time scales.
  • Responsible for escalation of any issues that will impact the daily achievement to plan or KPI targets to supervision.
  • To carry out weekly PI and stock accuracy control, with daily line returns.
  • Responsible for the operation of manual/automatic manufacturing/equipment.
  • Contribute to compliance with ISO and other statutory requirements, by ensuring relevant processes are followed.

Qualifications required – essential:

  • GCSE level C or above (Grade 9 – 4) in both English & Maths.

Qualifications required – desirable:

  • ILM Level 3 in Supervisory Management.
  • IOSH NEBOSH.

  • Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to drive and develop a team’s culture.
  • Experience with leading and managing a team.

  • Analysis and control of Production measures.
  • Stocktake and PI processes awareness.
  • Ability to develop staff to include coaching and mentoring activities.
