About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced cooking teacher to lead our popular after-school cooking club. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and interactive cooking lessons to children aged 5-12 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate cooking lessons, covering a variety of culinary techniques and cuisines.
- Create and maintain a safe and fun learning environment for children.
- Guide children through the cooking process, emphasizing food safety and hygiene.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet the needs and interests of individual children.
- Assist with the cleaning and tidying of the kitchen after each session.
- Maintain accurate records of hygiene attendance and participation.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with children
- DBS (desirable)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Passion for food and a strong understanding of child development.
- Food hygiene and safety certification (desirable).
- Experience working with children in a group setting.
- Creative and adaptable teaching style.
- First Aid and Child Protection training (desirable).
