The busy Ophthalmology department at Epsom and St Helier Trust has an exciting opportunity for a full-time administrator/receptionist. This role is cross-site covering our busy ophthalmology reception desks at both hospitals and working in the administration pod at St Helier Hospital. This role provides high-quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and strong teamwork. The post holder will support administrative functions relating to our patientsβ care pathways including answering telephones, booking new and follow-up appointments, monitoring the outpatient waiting list and working on the reception desks as required. This is an exciting role working with a large team of healthcare professionals and is an excellent first step for someone interested in pursuing a career in the NHS.

The office core hours are between 8 am β 6 pm Monday to Friday.

Person specification:
Essential criteria:
- High standard of spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Minimum of grade C Maths and English GCSE/equivalent
- Demonstrates understanding of role
- Previous experience in relevant administrative role
- Demonstrates customer service skills
Desirable criteria:
- Evidence of self-progression and training
- IPM or other PAS experience/IT based role
- Knowledge of NHS RTT timelines
- Relevant NHS experience
