Surrey Downs Health & Care are looking for a Band 5 Respiratory Physiotherapist to start immediately 3 days a week β 21.5 hours on a Bank basis. You will be based in the Sutton Community area.

Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy, HCPC, Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
Experience: NHS experience; Range of placements at graduate/undergraduate level; Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience
Skills / Abilities:
- Able to work effectively as part of the MDT;
- Able to communicate effectively with patients, their carers, line manager and other members of the Physiotherapy Service, multi-disciplinary team and external agencies;
- Able to work effectively to meet the needs of the Community Respiratory Service;
- Able to work independently and unsupervised during community visits;
- Knowledge of assessment tools and outcome measures;
- Able to travel frequently throughout the Borough within the working day.
Surrey Downs Health and Care is an innovative partnership between the local GP federations (GP Health Partners in the Epsom, Leatherhead and Ewell area, Dorking Healthcare for Dorking practices and Surrey Medical Network for practices in the East Elmbridge area), CSH Surrey and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Responsibilities:
- To undertake evidence-based audits to evaluate the teamβs clinical practice.
- To make recommendations, which may result in the implementation of changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
- To participate in the pulmonary rehabilitation audit and research, alongside senior therapist.
- To provide therapeutic assessment for patients with long-term respiratory conditions and to undertake, with guidance, all aspects of clinical duties to deliver clinically based, individualized treatment programs as an autonomous practitioner within the community setting.
- To provide a high standard of physiotherapy interventions to pulmonary rehabilitation services in a variety of community-based settings.
- To deliver patient education talks for the pulmonary rehabilitation program under the guidance of a senior therapist.
- To hold responsibility for own caseload working without direct supervision; supervision takes the form of case reviews and peer review.
- Advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available and clinical work is routinely evaluated.
