We are looking for a receptionist to join the team at Bourne Hall, one of Epsom & Ewell's most popular community venues.

This exciting and varied role combines front-of-house customer service with administration, marketing, and social media responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a diverse workload and thrives in a customer-focused environment.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a key role in creating a positive experience for everyone who visits Bourne Hall.

You will provide reception and administrative support whilst helping to promote the venue, its events and services through marketing and social media activity.

Key responsibilities include

  • Welcoming visitors and providing excellent customer service.
  • Handling enquiries in person, by telephone and via email.
  • Directing customers to services within the venue, including the Museum, Library, Coffee Shop and room hire facilities.
  • Managing and developing social media content and online platforms.
  • Supporting marketing campaigns and promoting events across multiple channels.
  • Creating promotional materials and maintaining venue displays.
  • Updating online event booking platforms.
  • Ordering and managing stationery and other supplies.
  • Supporting the Events Team during busy periods.
  • Ensuring reception, foyer and information areas remain welcoming, safe, and well-presented.

About You

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual who enjoys engaging with the public and can balance customer service, administration, and marketing tasks effectively.

You will have

  • Excellent customer service skills and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Experience using Canva to create engaging content.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • The ability to work independently and use your initiative.
  • A flexible approach, including the ability to cover additional shifts when required.

Desirable experience includes

  • Previous reception experience.
  • Experience using Orlo social media management software.
  • A creative approach to marketing and content creation.
