Bourne Hall Museum is seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable Assistant to work alongside the Curator on our museum collections and the stories they tell.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in meticulous care, documentation, and public engagement of the collections.
  • Process new acquisitions, control removal/return, and monitor conditions in stores.
  • Respond to enquiries, research, and write text for exhibitions.
  • Develop and deliver programmes engaging schools, local communities, and visitors.
  • Provide talks, guided walks, administer school loan boxes, and coordinate children’s activities and club.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working in a museum or cultural setting.
  • Exceptional organisational and engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workloads efficiently to meet the museum’s schedule.
