As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant in Gynaecology Outpatients, you will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care under the supervision of registered nurses and clinicians. You will assist with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare clinic rooms and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use.
  • Support patients during consultations and minor procedures; chaperone during intimate examinations as required.
  • Take observations and record vital signs accurately; perform urine and pregnancy tests as applicable; document results in patient notes.
  • Provide reassurance and information to patients, maintaining dignity and confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist with specimen collection, labelling, and handling; manage stock levels for consumables; assist with minor procedures by preparing instruments and supporting the clinician.
  • Maintain infection control standards and hygiene in clinical areas; clean between patients; adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Administrative duties may include updating electronic patient records, booking follow-up appointments, and liaising with reception and nursing teams.
  • Support the delivery of care within a multidisciplinary team; contribute to a caring and professional atmosphere and uphold the Trust's values.
