Gloucester Ward is looking for enthusiastic, well‑motivated registered nurses with a strong commitment to providing excellent care to our patients and families, on a permanent full or part‑time basis. Gloucester specialises in acute respiratory care and supports patients through their journey from admission to discharge, providing the highest quality healthcare and patient experience. The role offers challenging and rewarding experience, developing clinical and discharge planning skills and offering leadership opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high standard of individualised care to patients while maintaining their privacy and dignity at all times.
- Assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in the clinical area.
- Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, relatives/carers, nursing colleagues and the multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate and efficient care delivery.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Establish and maintain good communication with ward/department administrative, housekeeping and domestic staff.
- Ensure patients and their relatives/carers are fully informed of treatment, progress and discharge plans/after care.
- Undertake training around non‑invasive therapy, high‑flow oxygen therapy, chest drains and other pleural procedures.
- Receive training guidance upon successful interview and full support from senior nurses.
