Responsibilities
We are looking for an energetic, dynamic team player to join our arrhythmia team to cover a secondment for one year across Epsom and St Helier Hospitals. This role involves working closely with the three arrhythmia consultants, performing nurse‑led cardioversion, making management plans and reviewing patients in clinic pre‑ and post‑intervention. We provide on‑site ablation and complex devices and nurse‑led ILR implantation. The post holder will support nurse‑led arrhythmia services throughout the trust, including nurse‑led cardioversion, rapid access chest pain clinic, heart failure service, cardiac rehabilitation and supporting cardiology investigations. They will support diagnostic, referral, and treatment pathways for cardiac patients from primary to tertiary care, engaging with healthcare professionals across the network area. The post holder will ensure that the service offered is convenient and accessible to patients, assist in ensuring timely and streamlined care, and contribute to reducing waiting times and inappropriate admissions. The post holder will play a key role in the operational and clinical management of cardiac patients and their families, working closely with clinical teams. The post holder will apply clinical expertise to meet the particular needs of cardiac patients and families, take part in the development of protocol‑driven management of patients, and administer medications and therapies within patient group directives. The post holder will also undertake the physical assessment course and the non‑medical prescribing course within the next five years.
Qualifications
Extensive cardiac background with ALS provider competence and expert ECG interpretation and cannulation skills. Previous arrhythmia experience is preferable. Enthusiasm for excellence in care provision and service development, working hard to streamline pathways and improve access for all patients.
