As a ward hostess, you will help to enhance our patient well-being and their experience in the hospital. Working closely with other hospital staff, you will be expected to deliver a great level of customer service to all patients, visitors, staff and various stakeholders.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide an efficient food and beverage service to patients on wards, ensuring that food and beverages meet patients’ medical, dietary and cultural needs.
  • Help to prepare the service areas with the necessary equipment, such as crockery, serving utensils, and condiments.
  • Responsible for food preparation and production, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and food handling, while ensuring all food served to patients is easily accessible.

Full Time & Part Time Contract Available: (Shift pattern will include evening and weekend working)

Person specification:

  • Health & Safety Awareness
  • NVQ level 1 & 2 or equivalent
  • Previous work in a customer-facing role
  • Able to read, write and converse in English
  • Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
