Main area: Senior Clinical Pharmacist Grade Band 7. Contract: Fixed term, 9 months (Maternity cover). Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week (seven day working, late duty and first line on-call commitment).

Site: St Helier and Epsom Hospital, Town Carshalton and Epsom.

Salary: £55,524 – £62,652 pro-rata pa inclusive of Outer (HCAS). Salary period: Yearly. Closing date: 16/06/2026 23:59.

Our status as an Acute Trust ensures you will be exposed to a diverse range of medical conditions, allowing pharmacists to develop a breadth of clinical expertise. Additionally, we host the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre and a dedicated paediatric hospital at St Helier, providing a valuable opportunity to work with a broad patient population.

Main duties of the job: As a Senior Rotational Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll work across a number of different rotations, including critical care, paediatrics, surgery, and a variety of medical specialties. Your daily responsibilities will encompass ward-based tasks, chart reviews, clinical interventions, working closely with the medical team to optimise medication regimens, patient education on medications, screening discharge prescriptions, and supporting junior or trainee pharmacists. In addition, you’ll take the lead in conducting audits and driving quality improvement initiatives. During 6-monthly rotations, you will provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service, working towards expert-level knowledge and being supported to develop managerial skills and expertise by working towards agreed objectives. This position is full-time with a requirement for 37.5 hours of work per week, including participation in seven-day working and on-call rotas. However, we are open to applications from individuals seeking part-time, job-share, or flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications: Certificate in clinical pharmacy (at least 12 months complete and working towards 18 months), MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or equivalent, Management training, Full Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent, Management training.

Experience: Post registration UK hospital experience, Experience of providing services to a broad variety of patients, Demonstrate evidence of good clinical knowledge and skills, Management of staff / Staff appraisal.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, Good organisational skills, self and others, Ability to motivate self and others, Clinical governance and risk management, Experience of contributing to or leading on the writing of trust guidelines, policies and procedures.
