CLINICAL FELLOW - ST4+ LEVEL IN RENAL MEDICINE

Fulltime [100% clinical]

  1. One Fixed Term 12 Months (ST4+ level)

We are seeking to appoint a forward-thinking, dedicated and motivated clinical fellow in our Department of Renal medicine. The first one-year post (ST4+ level) will be based at the St Helier hospital site, and the starting date is 5th August 2026 for a period of 12 months initially and extendable subject to satisfactory feedback and progression.

This post would suit a candidate who is looking to gain experience in Renal Medicine. It is particularly suited for those seeking additional experience in clinical Renal medicine, interventional nephrology, clinical research, management, or quality improvement, and those wanting to undertake a nephrology training programme in the UK.

This post is also suitable for candidates interested in taking time off from the national training programme as part of Out of Programme (OOP) experience to develop sub‑speciality skills such as renal transplantation medicine, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, multisystem vasculitis, autoimmune glomerular diseases, and interventional nephrology.

You will be expected to perform clinical duties and responsibilities typical of ST4+ level doctors and work as part of a team of 9 registrars. The post holder will provide ST4+ on‑call cover for the Renal Service in a 1 in 9 rota. Candidates holding CCT in Renal Medicine will have the opportunity to develop their subspecialty interest within Renal Medicine during this tenure.

Clinical management skills, research opportunities, and support for submitting abstracts to international and national conferences are available to support individual career aspirations. The unit also offers training in interventional nephrology to perform renal‑specific procedures (both simple and complex using fluoroscopy).
