The Band 7 role within the ED is rewarding. You will lead our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team on a daily basis, ensuring the smooth running of shifts in a challenging and diverse environment. Your clinical leadership and people skills are vital to delivering the responsibilities and accountabilities outlined in this job description.

Person specification:

• Qualifications: NMC Registered Nurse, Post graduate courses relevant to specialty, BSc or evidence of study at level 6, Teaching and assessing course, ILS, Safeguarding level 3, MSc or evidence of study at level 7, ALS, Management and leadership course.
• Experience: Extensive post registration experience within specialty, Experience of team and shift management, Experience in conducting appraisals, Experience in service improvement implementation, Experience in research and audit.
• Knowledge: Application of evidence based practice and knowledge of current clinical and professional issues, Understanding of Clinical Audit & Clinical Governance, Understanding of quality assurance, Ability to create an environment which facilitates learning, Commitment to self development and development of others, Knowledge and experience of change management theories.
• Skills: Excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills, Ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload of self and others, Ability to work flexibly within an emergency setting, Triage trained, Working with excel, Ability to chair and organise meetings.
