We are seeking a forward‑thinking, dedicated and motivated clinical research fellow in the Department of Renal Medicine at St Helier Hospital. The post is Post CCT level and will be based at St Helier Hospital. The starting date is 30 September 2026, with an initial contract of 12 months, extendable upon satisfactory feedback and progression to support additional experience requirements.
Main Duties
- Perform clinical duties and responsibilities expected of ST4+ level doctors.
- Provide ST4+ on‑call cover for the Renal Service on a 1 in 9 rota.
- Develop expertise in Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and other subspecialty interests in Renal Medicine during the tenure.
- Engage in clinical research methodology, laboratory techniques, basic and translational research methodologies with support from consultant expertise.
- Submit abstracts to national and international conferences.
- Participate in audits, research and clinical risk management.
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent
- GMC registration or eligibility
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Due to obtain CCT in Renal Medicine around joining date
- BSc or equivalent
- Prizes or honours in MBBS or equivalent
- SCE Nephrology
- National Renal Training Programme

- Renal Medicine experience
- Achievement of Foundation competencies by appointment date, in line with GMC standards
- Experience of Medicine and other specialties
Teaching Experience
- Evidence of teaching experience

- Experience and ability to work in a multi‑professional team
Research Experience
- Understanding of audit, research and clinical risk management
