The predicted salary is between 33 - 38 € per hour.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician associate to gain experience and skills working within the Surrey Downs Health & Care Community Services. The role supports acute medical patients and contributes to the development and delivery of frailty services.

Main duties of the job:

  • Assess and examine acute medical patients, present them, initiate and interpret investigations and recommend treatment.
  • Exercise a high degree of personal autonomy when assessing and planning care for an agreed caseload of patients with a range of presenting complaints.
  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge in managing frailty and general patients, acting as a resource for the clinical team and allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to achieving and maintaining key performance indicators for frailty service and virtual ward.
  • Support frailty service related national audits and clinical research activities.
  • Communicate with GPs and other health professionals who may have had contact with the frailty service.
  • Develop efficient pathways of care in accordance with best practice and national guidelines.
  • Participate in the development of the frailty service through Trust and community services.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with Data Protection Act and NHS policies.
  • Adhere to Fitness to Practice and Code of Conduct standards established by the UK Managed Voluntary Register for Physician Assistants.
  • Attend meetings, contribute to projects and ensure infection control policies are followed.
  • Participate in education and training activities, maintain professional development, and support staff training needs.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working within an NHS trust.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a physician associate.
  • Professional registration (Member of FPA).
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Experience of conducting clinical audit.

Qualifications:

  • Member of the Federation of Physician Assistants (FPA).
  • Professional registration held and current.
