Work with and support the critical care clinical governance structure to promote patient safety and quality of care. This includes reading all relevant governance reports and actions. Report all incidents and serious untoward clinical incidents, complete relevant documentation, and co-operate with investigations as required. Ensure that all staff are aware of their legal responsibilities with regard to the prescription and administration and custody of drugs. Works towards achieving Epsom & St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust objectives as laid out in the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy. This decision would be made by the ICU/HDU Matron, having taken into account staffing, skill mix, patient dependency and acuity and capacity within both units.
